The BTEC Aviation Studies is comprised of two components
BTEC Award in Aviation Studies:
This is the equivalent of one GCSE at grades A to C.
BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies:
This is the equivalent of two GCSE at grades A to C.
Complete required classification elements as part of training up to and including Staff Part 1. The training is split into 3 blocks:
The training comprises of elements from the basic training undertaken to achieve the First Class Cadet classification; Airmanship 1, Map Reading, Communications, and Rifle.
The training comprises of all elements of First Class Cadet training to achieve the Leading Cadet classification; Airmanship 2, Basic Navigation, and Principles of Flight.
The training comprises of passes in four of the subjects available at Leading and Senior classifications to achieve Staff Part 1; Advance Radio & Radar, Airframes, Aircraft Handling, Air Navigation, Operational Flying, Propulsion, Pilot Navigation, and Satellite Communications.
BTEC Award in Aviation Studies:
Complete Blocks A and B
BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies:
Complete Blocks A, B and C.
